Arched Window Tote Bag - Free Crochet Pattern

Hello All,


Today I am going to share the pattern of Arched Window Tote Bag. My inspiration to create this bag was the stitch pattern of Arched Window. I love this stitch and made up my mind to crochet a bag with this stitch Pattern.


I used two colors of Premier brand Everyday Yarn. Bright Violet for Base, Head and Belt portion.

Cream for Body. You can choose any of your favourte colors and may be 3 colors to create this bag. So lets begin.


Material


1 Skein of Bright Violet color Premier Everyday Brand Yarn. Color code - ED100-39

1 Skein of Cream color Premier Everyday Brand Yarn. Color code - ED100-02

G - 4.50mm Crochet hook

Scissor

and some stitch markers


Abbreviation


ch - chain

st - stitches

sk - skip chain

dc - double crochet

sc - single crochet

sl st - slip stitch

dcblo - double crochet back loop only


Pattern


Always chain in multiple of 4 (eg 28, 32, 36 etc)


Base :- Color Bright Violet


Chain 36


Row 1 : 3 dc in 3rd chain from the hook

dc in next 32 chains, 6 dc in last chain.


continue on the back side of the chains by dc in next 32 chains.

3 dc in same chain where you 1st started by 3 double crochet making it total of 6 dc in same chain. sl st to join. (76)


Row 2 : chain 3 (this do not count as 1 st dc)

2dc in next 3 st

dc in next 32 st

2dc in next 6 st

dc in next 32 st

2dc in next 3 st

this will make a total of 88 st. Sl st to join

Row 3 : chain 3 (this do not count as 1 st dc)

-2dc in 1st st

-1dc in 2nd

-repeat the above for two more times

-dc in next 32 st

-2dc in next st

-1 dc in next st

-repeat the above for 5 more times

-dc in next 32 st

2dc and 1dc in last 6 st

sl st to join (100)


Row 4 : chain 3 (this do not count as 1 st dc). dcblo across all st (100)

Row 5 : chain3 (this do not count as 1 st dc). dc across all st (100)


Body : Color Cream


Row 6 : Ch 3 (this will count as 1st dc) and dc in next two st. (total 3 dc)

*ch 2 sk 2 3 dc*



repeat the pattern mention between * *

At the end when you are left with 3 st, ch 2 and join 1st dc with sl st. (100)

Row 7 : ch1 and add a stitch marker in that ch 1 space.

sc in next st (above 2nd dc from previous round)

5dc in chain 2 space

*sc in center of 3 dc from previous round and 5 dc in ch 2 space*

Repeat this across the row

At the end sl st in the ch 1 space (where stitch marker is hooked) to complete the row.


Row 8 : sl st in next 3 sts

ch 3( counts as 1st dc) and dc in next 2 sts

*ch2 sk2 3 dc*

At the end when you are left with 2 st, ch 2 and join 1st dc with sl st. (100)

make sure that 3 dc should come on top of the 5dc shell and in such a way that 1st and last dc of the shell are skipped.

Row 9-20 : Repeat row 7 and 8 (100)


Row 21 : ch 1 (insert the stitch marker in ch 1 sp) sc across the row. sl st in ch 1 space where stitch marker in hooked and fasten off your yarn and weave off the end.


Row 22-30 : Change color to Bright Violet.

Lay your bag flat on the table in such a way that front side of the bag should have 50 sts and back 50 sts total 100 sts.

Join the new color on the right folding side by inserting the hook and pulling up a loop and ch 1. (this will be your 1st sc).

sc across the row and sl st to join at the end of row. (100)

Repeat till row 30.


Row 31 : ch1 (counts as 1st sc) and sc in 16 sts.

chain 100

sk 16 sts

sc in next 17 sts (creating a big belt loop)

Chain 100

sk 16 sts

sc in next 17 sts (creating a big belt loop)

sl st to join.


Row 32 : sc across the row (250)


Row 33-34 : Change color to cream

sc across the row. (250)


Row 35-36 : Change color to Bright Violet

sc across the row. (250)

sl st at the start of the belt in such a way that it looks even through out.


Weave off all the loose ends if any.

And your beautiful Arched Window tote bag is ready.
